Sigga is a digital change agent, driving customer led innovation across Santander UK and influencing change across the industry. She is partnering with the start-up, digital and fin-tech community to lead efforts to design a customer centric bank of the future through mobile first business models. She sits on the City UK Fintech Delivery Panel, the Financial Services Trade and Investment Board Fintech Senior Steering Committee, The CBI Innovation Council, the Business in the Community Race Equality Board and the Empower Steering Committee. Sigga has been recognized for her excellence in inspirational and transformational leadership at both the European Digital Masters Awards and Banking in Technology awards last year. Additionally she was named as top 30 Women Influencers in the City by Brummel Magazine and forms part of the Women in Fintech power list by Innovate Finance.
Before joining Santander, Sigga worked for American Express for 14 years in Australia, Singapore, London and NYC leading digital transformation and change across multiple lines of business and geographies. Sigga started her career in the media industry, in her native country Iceland, as head of marketing and business development for Independent Media.
Sigga just completed a doctorate in leadership and innovation from Manchester Business School and further holds an MBA from IESE Business School as well as a BS degree in Marketing from the University of South Carolina. She is married and has two children.
