Jing Dong

Director for Asia Pacific EHS & Sustainability and Global Hazard Communication at the Dow Chemical Company

Jing Dong currently serves as the Director, Asia Pacific Environment, Health, Safety and Sustainability
(EHS&S), and oversees the Global Hazard Communication. EH&S and Sustainability includes the following expertise services – Business Product Stewardship (Biz PSS), EH&S Auditing, Toxicology Environmental Research & Consulting (TERC), Hazard Communication (Hazcom), Health Services, Product Regulatory Services (PRS), Remediation, Industrial Hygiene Expertise, Operations Regulatory Services, and Sustainability.

Dong has served in various roles in Dow, since she joined Dow in 2005, as the Director of EHS&S, Product Safety Leader for Asia Pacific, Coach for Product Stewardship organization in Shanghai, Toxicology Consultant for Asia Pacific, Regulatory Toxicologist and Food Chain Specialist for Dow AgroSciences, and a short term assignment in Brussels’ Government Affairs and Public Policy office. At the end of 2012, Dong returned to Shanghai and assumed the current role to lead a team of experts in providing state-of-art EH&S and Sustainability services and advices to the company in the region.

Dong also served in a Chairperson role for the Responsible Care Committee of the Association of International Manufacturers (AICM), and as the Secretariat and of the Certification Committee of the Chinese Society of Toxicology (CST). She is a certified Toxicologist by China Society of Toxicology, and a certified Six Sigma Green Belt Project Leader. Dong has over 20 publications and presentations in peer-reviewed journals and international conferences.

Dong obtained her Doctor of Philosophy degree in Pharmacology and Toxicology in 2004, from University of Texas at Austin in the USA, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacology in 2000 from Peking University, Health Science Center in China.

Dong also functions as the Women Innovation Network (WIN) Chair for Asia Pacific region in Dow, helping to advance women’s career development.
